How we got here
Christians have worshipped on the hill above the Weald at St Peter's for centuries. Generations of the village have been baptised, married and remembered there, passing through a lychgate that is among the oldest in England.
Junction grew out of St Peter's as a church plant, a new gathering in the village hall for people who wanted something more informal: coffee and conversation, honest questions, worship without ceremony. It set out to be a safe place for people to come and be real, and it became exactly that.
The two congregations were never really separate. The same people served in both, the same office answered the phone for both, and the same love for Boughton Monchelsea drove both. Bringing them under one name simply says out loud what has been true all along: we are one church family with many front doors.
St Peter's remains part of the Church of England in the Diocese of Canterbury, and Junction remains its informal expression; nothing has been lost. What's new is a shared home online, shared contact details, and a shared story to tell.
Our values
Welcome
Everyone is welcome. Not as a slogan but as a practice: at the lychgate, at the hall door, at the table.
Real
We'd rather be honest than impressive. Faith here has room for doubt, grief, mess and laughter.
Rooted
We belong to this village and its long story: its festivals, its families, its fields and its future.
Sent
We gather in order to be sent: into our streets, schools and workplaces, loving God and loving people.
Who's who
Both congregations are served by one ministry team and church office. For a question about faith, a baptism, a wedding, a funeral, or just to talk, start with the office and we'll connect you with the right person.
