Services

Come as you are

Two places, one family. Whichever service you choose, you'll find the same people and the same welcome. No ticket and no dress code. Just turn up.

The monthly pattern

Our Sunday services alternate week by week, and Messy Church meets on the second Saturday. If you're not sure which Sunday of the month it is, a quick glance at a calendar will sort you out, or just ring the office and ask.

The chalice marks services with Holy Communion.

At St Peter's

Church Hill, Boughton Monchelsea ME17 4BU

There's nothing to prepare and nothing to pick up. Our welcomers will be on the door to say hello, and all the words for the songs are up on the screens. Whoever is leading the service will guide you through it as it goes, so you can join in with as much or as little as feels comfortable.

Our 10:15 services are relaxed and informal: we sing a mix of contemporary songs and well-loved traditional hymns, and prayers are shared. Stay for tea and coffee afterwards.

At communion the invitation to the table is open. If you want to move closer to God, you're welcome to receive; if you'd rather have a blessing, that's fine too. We offer gluten-free, vegan wafers and grape juice, as well as a common cup of wine, so there's always an alcohol-free choice.

The church is reached through the lychgate off Church Hill, with parking nearby. There is level access into the building.

At Junction

The Village Hall, Church Street ME17 4HN

Arrive to the smell of coffee. We sit around tables, sing together, hear from the Bible, and make space to talk and pray honestly about real life. Children are part of the gathering, not a problem to be managed.

We normally celebrate communion at Junction once a month, in a really informal way, with gluten-free, vegan bread and grape juice. Nice and simple.

The hall is on Church Street with parking outside and step-free access throughout.

Through the year

Festivals and special services

Alongside Christmas and Easter, the Rose Festival Service is a highlight of the village year, when St Peter's fills with roses and neighbours. Every autumn we hold Light a Candle, a service to remember people we love who have died. Dates are announced here and in the parish magazine.
